Sunday Jazz Sessions
BMS Brooklyn Jazz + Jazz Standard Foundation
““I am thrilled to have the opportunity to assist young musicians as they explore and engage with the art of jazz improvisation.” ”
BMS Jazz Department collaborates with the Jazz Standard Foundation for Sunday Jazz Sessions!
The first hour focuses on the students workshopping with each other, while the professionals observe and offer guidance when needed. The second hour is about the performance, so each student exercises what they practiced during the previous hour. The second hour session is free and open to the public , and as a non-profit organization we are always grateful for and accept donations from $10.00 and up.
BMS believes that a healthy arts community contributes to the overall mental and physical well-being of the borough while also fostering strong community connections. We are committed to making high-quality music and performing arts instructions available and affordable to a wide range of students – from toddlers to seniors and everyone in between.
