Who we are

BMS is a 501(c)(3) non profit, and a staple in the Fort Greene community. We’ve provided music and performance instruction for over 100 years, and we’re committed to reaching thousands of students every year with low-cost performing arts programs.

In a time where arts budgets are being cut in schools, your support can change the lives of our students by providing much-needed arts education.

How it helps

Many of our students receive scholarships for free or reduced tuition funded by donations from donors like you.

Support from our community allows us to enhance programming that will help sustain Brooklyn's thriving arts community by providing early childhood music education, after school programs, music therapy, dance, musical theater, and music programming in our borough’s schools, community centers, and senior centers.
