Winter Classes
Semester begins 1/6/2025
music babies (0 - 1 year)
Tuesdays 11:00 - 11:45am
Students and Parents/Caregivers will engage in a variety of musical activities fostering musical and educational growth. Instructors will introduce basic musical concepts such as recognizing sound and silence, finding the beat, and learning the difference between high sounds and low sounds. This will be accomplished through the use of instrument play, singing, expressive movement, and listening. Our trained instructors will implement interactive lessons while complementing the class with musical accompaniment and demonstration. Using Traditional songs and World music, Echo Songs, Finger Play, and Movement, students will be exposed to various musical styles and instruments including bells, sticks, and hand drums.
toddler’s and 2’s music and movement (1 - 2 years)
Tuesdays 9:00am - 9:45am
In this toddlers and 2’s music class, instructors will introduce basic musical concepts and terms such as finding the beat, demonstrating the difference between high sounds and low sounds through movement, and learning musical terms such as forte/piano and more. This will be accomplished through the use of Traditional songs, World music, Popular music, instrument play, singing, expressive movement, and listening. Our trained instructors will implement interactive lessons while complementing the class with musical accompaniment and demonstration. Using Echo Songs, Finger Play, and Movement, students will be exposed to various musical styles and instruments including percussion instruments and pitched instruments.
mini maestros (2.0 - 3.11 years)
Satudays 9:00am - 9:45am
In this toddlers and 2’s music class, instructors will continue to introduce basic musical concepts and terms such as finding the beat, demonstrating the difference between high sounds and low sounds through movement, hearing the difference between fast/slow, and loud/soft. This will be accomplished through the use of Traditional songs, World music, Popular music, instrument play, singing, expressive movement, and listening. Our trained instructors will implement interactive lessons while complementing the class with musical accompaniment and demonstration. Using Echo Songs, Finger Play, and Movement, students will be exposed to various musical styles and instruments including percussion instruments and pitched instruments.
music explorers (3 - 4.11 years)
Saturdays 10:00am - 10:45am, Tuesdays 10:00am - 10:45am
Students will further their musical experience through Singing, Movement Activities and working with various instruments and props. Students will further their understanding of Voice and Musical/Instrumental recognition through early introduction to Instruments, Music and Movement activities, Echo songs, Call and Response, and Finger Play. Music ignites all areas of child development from intellectual and social to motor language and literacy. This program is designed to expose young children to Music in all its forms while also continuing the Early Education process to promote school readiness.
3s and 4s world percussion ensemble
Saturdays 11:00am - 11:45am
The 3s and 4s World Percussion Ensemble class introduces a variety of world percussion instruments to students including various drums, shakers, and other percussion instruments. In this collaborative learning environment students play solo and in groups while exploring musical concepts such as rhythm, finding the beat, phrasing, and pitch.
Trial Classes and registration Fees
Trial Classes
If requested, we invite families to participate in one Trial Class before they sign up for the Trimester.
Students who would like to participate in a Trial Class need to email registrar@brooklynmusicschool.org at least 24 hours in advance.
There is a $39 fee for all Early Childhood Trial Classes.
After the Trial Class, students must enroll for the Trimester or try a different class.
Registration Fee
Students (new and continuing) must pay a one-time registration fee of $40 per student for the Academic Year 9/2025 - 8/2026.
