Audition for Brooklyn Music School’s annual spring musical:
Newsies Jr.!
Set in 1899, powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys' expense. The charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions. Katherine, a journalist who’s sympathetic to their plight, offers them some tips in public relations as the newsies’ battle consumes the city. After a successful first day of striking, newly elected union leader Jack Kelly sends representatives to spread the word of their strike to “newsies” throughout New York City. Together, the newsies learn that they are stronger united and create a movement to fight for what's right.
Full of high-energy songs and memorable choreography, Newsies Jr. is a story about courage, friendship, and finding your voice. This is a great opportunity for new actors and seasoned performers alike to shine, learn, and be part of an unforgettable show!

Audition Dates:
December 17th, 4:30 - 6:00 PM
December 20th, 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM
All actors should come prepared with a memorized audition cut from Newsies Jr. (Jack, Katherine, Medda, or Ensemble). You’ll also be asked to read an audition side — this piece does not need to be memorized. Finally, everyone will participate in a short dance call to learn and perform a simple combination together.
