Mimi Hilaire is a soulful soprano from Brooklyn, New York who is a graduate of the Professional Studies program at Mannes. She is a Julian Autrey foundation grant winner and a Harlem Opera Competition first prize winner. Mimi has also received awards from both the Wagner Society of New York and the Premiere Opera competition. She has sung with the Internationale Opernwerkstatt based in Switzerland. Although Mimi has sung world premieres of several operas, she is equally at home in more traditional opera. She has performed the role of Tosca with both Regina Opera and New Jersey Verismo Opera to rave reviews as well as the role of Aida with Utah Festival Opera.
In addition to her work in the field of opera, Mimi performs in the styles of pop, jazz and soul with several entertainment companies based in New York City like the Jerry Kravitz Entertainment Group and Quintessential Playlist. Her band Mimi and the Podd Brothers is known for infusing their soulful jazz style with operatic classics and performs regularly in NYC’s most loved jazz venues like Arthur's Tavern and The Blue Note.
She has a BM from Ithaca College in Vocal Performance, a graduate degree from The New School for Music (Mannes) in voice and has studied voice function at ISV (International School of the Voice).
