“I love witnessing a student be courageous and trust their creative instincts! Their spark inspires everyone around them to be brave, step up, try something new and shine - other students, teachers and the community!”
Karen Musey has trained professionally with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Professional Division School, The Banff Centre (Ballet Program), Canada’s National Voice Intensive, and Upright Citizen’s Brigade. She continues to further her education with private coaches. She was chosen to represent the province of Manitoba in the discipline of dance during the Canada Winter Games for the National Artist Program. Karen is proud member of Actor’s Equity, SAG-AFTRA, Canadian Actor’s Equity, and ACTRA.
Karen teaches and adjudicates internationally. As a company member of the Young American Outreach Touring Program, she taught in public school workshops in England and Germany which were centered around singing, dance and improv while bolstering self esteem and community connection. She often teaches and holds workshops for dance studios and organizations and was on faculty with Drama Maniacs in Los Angeles during their school year and summer kids theatre programming. When Karen experienced a neck injury in her performing career, she sought out movement rehabilitation training techniques through Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Usui Reiki, Tai Chi and the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®. Karen Musey is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 5 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. She is currently writing a book on dynamic ways to enhance healing in injury rehabilitation and has written for Huffpost and 4dancers.com on performance preparation.
