Come join us for an in-person Sound Bath Meditation this April! The event will include essential oils, tea, and water
ABOUT THIS EVENT
Sound Bath Meditations are guided listening meditations with a variety of instruments designed for optimal release, grounding, and balance. Instruments include Alchemy gem and quartz crystal singing bowls, Himalayan metal singing bowls, hand pans, monochords, and other resonant drone instruments. Participants experience deep states of rest and release to balance the autonomic nervous system. BMS' sound bath meditations are curated by Katie Down, (LCAT, MT-BC) a licensed creative arts therapist and music psychotherapist and former chair of BMS' music therapy dept. Katie has been offering sound bath meditations for over 15 years in the NYC area and Hudson Valley and is a professor at SUNY, New Paltz's music therapy dept. Sound Bath Meditations are sonic meditations incorporating all the senses, based on the premise that we listen not only with our ears but with our etheric and physical body. Through deep listening, we heal and connect with ourselves and each other while creating new neural pathways for optimal, sound health.
NOTE: A Negative PCR/Rapid Test or Vaccination Card is required to be shown before entry. To preserve the calm atmosphere and not disturb the sound bath as it is in progress - if you show up after 3:10 pm you may not be admitted.
BYOM - bring your own mats! We will have blankets available but no mats so please remember to bring your own. If you do not have a yoga mat, please let us know as we might have a couple on hand but it's important that you bring your own if possible.
Space is also limited to 15 for proper distancing measures.
