Arian Shafiee is a guitarist and composer from San Francisco, based in New York City since 2015. He has toured extensively across the U.S. and Europe, with releases on Sub Pop, DFA, and Tzadik. His inventive playing and compositions have earned acclaim from NPR, Pitchfork, and Rolling Stone, and his work has appeared in film and television projects for HBO and Apple.

Arian holds a degree in Contemporary Improvisation from the New England Conservatory of Music, where his studies focused on aural learning, composition, and improvisation across a wide range of genres and disciplines. He brings this deep, cross-disciplinary foundation to both his creative work and his teaching. With over a decade of teaching experience, he is committed to creating a supportive, inspiring space where students feel encouraged to explore and find their own unique voice through music.
