“I think that every person can sing. I believe that it is essential to create an educational environment that is student-oriented, respectful of diversity, and supportive of student achievement - no matter how great or small. I truly enjoy working with young artists and getting them inspired to perform, express themselves, as well as see them build community in the rehearsal space. Music is uniquely interdisciplinary with benefits extending to other subjects like math, reading comprehension, science, and social studies. I also believe that a strong music program can establish skills such as teamwork, creativity, empathy, and discipline. All of these skills are essential to preparing students for success, but more importantly, a good music program will create lifelong learners.”
