Summer at the Brooklyn Music School
The Brooklyn Music School (BMS) offers a diverse selection of Summer Programming for children ages 5 and up. Whether your child is new to music and dance or has been studying a particular instrument for some time, the Brooklyn Music School has summer programming options fit for all skill levels. From individualized instruction in private lessons to fun and engaging full-day music and dance programming to afternoon Musical Theater workshops, BMS has just the right summer activities where all participants are sure to experience the joy of music and dance.

Summer Private lessons
BMS provides students at any age or experience to work in a highly tailored, one-on-one environment for guitar, drums, strings, voice, and wind instruments with world class instructors across a range of musical traditions.
Jazz workshop
This week-long workshop for intermediate and above musicians ages 11 and up focuses on honing skills for improvisation and small group playing. Participants will dig deep and further develop their jazz vocabulary.
Summer Vocal arts
The BMS Summer Vocal Arts Program (SVA) provides a selective, five-week intensive exposure to high-level vocal arts preparation and performance.

Music & Dance Institute
The BMS Summer Institute provides children ages 5-8 with broad introduction to music, dance, and the performing arts at Brooklyn's best and most affordable summer programming, packed with creativity, fun, and new friendships.
Rock band workshop
In this workshop, more advanced music students ages 10 and up will have the chance to delve into the intricacies of ensemble playing and learn what it really takes to prep for a gig, play as a cohesive unit and rock the stage!

Music & Dance Intensives
For the older students, ages 9 - 12 BMS is excited to offer a series of music and dance intensives this summer. In this program older students have the opportunity to delve deeper into the study and practice of music and dance.
Summer vocal arts jr.
For to children ages 6 -15, this program includes approximately 9 hours of classes in singing and dance, integrated with rehearsal, introducing young artists to performance-oriented vocal arts and theater.
