As part of the Brooklyn Music School’s expanding Music Therapy offerings, BMS will be offering a series of four Sound Baths on the first Friday of each month starting in March. Sound baths offer participants an opportunity to unplug from the on-going demands of daily life for an hour or so, and to relax to the healing vibrations of singing bowls, chimes, hand pan, gongs and other instruments. In a sound bath, participants rest in savasana and often go into a state of relaxation and meditation on sound. Sound helps the body achieve physical homeostasis and can help restore physical, mental and energetic balance, which is useful in a highly demanding daily life in New York City.
