Melissa obtained her bachelor’s from Berklee College of Music and her master's in Music Therapy from NYU. Melissa discovered the field of music therapy when as a voice coach, she developed a passion for helping singers overcome perfectionism and performance anxiety. During her master’s level internship at Baltic Street, she conducted music therapy with professional singer-songwriters. She researched the impact of trauma on creative self-expression, and the use of songs in healing trauma. Melissa also has several years experience leading songwriting groups for veterans in recovery from homelessness, addiction and PTSD. She is dedicated to helping trauma survivors reclaim their fullest self-expression through music. Melissa is our lead music therapist for the Adult Resource Center outreach program working with adults with developmental delays.
