Mehmet Aydin

A commitment to building character while teaching and expecting a coherent lesson plan both from myself and the student in the highest regard, keeps one engaged with a relaxed yet engaged focus and understanding.

 

An active ensemble musician, soloist and recitalist, Mr. Mehmet Aydin has appeared publicly in venues around the world including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Barclays Center, the Fillmore and many others throughout the United States, Italy, France Switzerland and Turkey. He has taken stage notably with the Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, John Williams, Burt Bacharach, Kenny Werner, Christian McBride, Tim Hagans and Sir Simon Rattle. He has also appeared on many CD recordings with ensembles and groups of varying genres.

Mr. Aydin earned his Bachelor of Music from the New England Conservatory in Boston. After completing his Master of Music at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Mr. Aydin pursued his Doctoral studies at Rutgers University with CJ Chang, principal violist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and with Craig Mumm, Assistant Principal viola of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. 

As an educator in New York City where he resides, Mr Aydin has taught students of all levels and backgrounds. He has taught for the Harmony Program, Greenwich Country Day School, LA Children's Orchestra and many others, both in group, orchestra and private settings. Mr Aydin is glad to be welcomed by the Brooklyn Music School and shaping the future minds and musicians to come!
