Maya Bennardo

Violin, viola, piano

I have had students who at first feel stage fright, and then after a couple of concerts they feel in control and have lost their fear. This makes me extremely proud.

Growing up as part of a musical family in Illinois and Ohio, Maya played piano from a very young age. But then at the age of eight, a family friend came by and played fiddle music and she immediately fell in love with the violin. She began taking lessons, playing in youth orchestra, and taking part in competitions.

Maya received her undergraduate degree at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and then followed her teacher Gregory Fulkerson to New York University, where she earned her masters degree.
