Kelly Jo Lockwood

Oboe, Flute, Bassoon

Kelly Jo Lockwood is an oboist who performs in the New York City and capital region. Originally from western New York, she attended SUNY Fredonia where she studied oboe with Dr. Sarah Hamilton and obtained her degree in music education. She went on to study oboe performance with Humbert Lucarelli in the Hartt School at the University of Hartford. Continuing her studies with Lucarelli, she moved to New York City and completed an Artist Diploma at SUNY Purchase. She now lives in Brooklyn with her husband, two dogs, and cat.

Kelly is an active member of several groups both in the city and upstate New York. These include the Chelsea Symphony, the New York Repertory Orchestra, Music Among Friends, and Gloversville Community Music, where she is the double reed teacher in residence. She has performed with several other groups in the northeast, including the West Hartford Symphony Orchestra, the Nova Philharmonic, the Southern Tier Symphony, and Curtain Up Productions in Lockport, New York. Kelly has attended the Rome Festival as well as the Fredonia Chamber Music Festival.
