Private Lesson Details: 

Duration: 30, 45 or 60 minutes

The first lesson is paid up-front, with no commitment to enroll for the term.  It is designed to be an introduction between the teacher and student. If the student feels it is a good fit, we ask that the student commits to weekly lessons for the Academic Year: September 2018 through June 2019.

Description:

BMS provides students at all age of experience to work in a highly tailored, one-on-one environment with world-class guitar educators across a range of musical traditions. Our faculty has trained at the most respected conservatories in the world and brings a wealth of professional experience that informs their teaching and technique. Private lessons are matched to each individual's goals and existing playing ability.

Students will learn essential guitar techniques, including:

  • Proper fretting hand and picking technique

  • Proficient use of chords and scales

  • Note reading on musical staff

  • Music theory

  • Performance/audition preparation

  • Music appreciation

  • Improvisation

BMS’ guitar instruction covers musical styles including rock, jazz, classical, blues folk/Americana, and Bluegrass. The Brooklyn Music School has successfully taught students ranging from beginners to professionals.
