E.F. Morrill

Director of Theater Operations & Finance Manager

The BMS Playhouse is the last of the “Little Theater Movement” venues still standing in Brooklyn– I am excited about preserving that legacy and extending it into the 21st century.

Ed performed his first professional role in 1956 on the Stan Boreson TV show in Seattle, Washington. During the next 50 plus years he has done every job in film and theater, including working as an actor, writer, director, production designer, and producer. He was primarily involved with producing and financing theatrical and movie productions, and the creation of scenic and lighting designs in his Theater Technology Project Studio.

Coaxed out of retirement in 2011 with the opportunity to restore the Brooklyn Music School’s 1924 landmark theater, he dedicates his time to the enrichment of BMS programming facilities and the development of community opportunities for performance.
