African Dance  I


Day + Time:  Sundays, 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.

Duration: 45 minutes

Ages: 3-5 years old

Dress Code:  Black leotard with black leggings, lappa, hair neatly tied up

Fee: $15/class, $195 for Winter Trimester | $165 for Spring Trimester; There will be no winter recital, so it’s recommended to sign up for both semesters.

This curriculum teaches an overview of West African dance through call and response, polyrhythms, storytelling, song, drums, and movement. Students will begin to build their leadership skills and have a sense of community through different class exercises and rituals. The class focusing on developing motor skills through traditional West African movements. Students will experience the joy and freedom of West African dance by being learning about the many cultures of the African Diaspora.
