Music Education for Homeschool Students

Brooklyn Music School offers group classes specifically designed for homeschool students whose parents would like to supplement their academic education with an interactive exposure to the music and performing arts. We offer an array of different classes throughout the year that enable students to sample different instruments and musical styles, learn the fundamentals of music theory and music history, and explore areas including African drumming and musical theater.

All our classes are designed to be in a group setting during daytime hours with other homeschool students, and can serve as a springboard to intensive study through private lessons or specialist programs.

Introduction to Instruments - Spring 2017

Ukelele homeschool music class

This exploratory, hands-on class is designed for students that are not sure which instrument to choose and want to survey the different instrument families. Each of the ten sessions will overview a different instrument family: brass, winds, strings, guitars, vocals, piano/keyboards, drumming, hand drums, and composition. This 10-week, 50-minute class is designed for students 7-12 years old and is $150 for the program.
