This curriculum teaches an overview of West African dance through call and response, polyrhythms, storytelling, song, drums, and movement. Students will continue to sharpen their leadership and motor skills along with strengthening their sense community through different class exercises and rituals. The class is structured with a warm-up, across-the-floor, and learning traditional West African dances. Students will experience the joy and freedom of West African dance by being learning about the many cultures of the African Diaspora.
