When can I register?
The Brooklyn Music School  operates two 18-week semesters in the spring and fall for private instruction.  Monday students sign up for a 15 week semester.  The Brooklyn Music School also offers a 6-week summer session. Students may register for private lessons in any instrument or voice at any time during the year and pay the prorated cost of the remaining lessons in the semester. How do I register?
Register in person at the Brooklyn Music School or by phone by calling 718-638-5660.

Can I try before I buy?
Yes. If you or your child plans to register for private lessons for the first time, you may pay for trial class with no obligation to register for more classes. Prospective students also may audit one group class session per semester before committing to the remaining classes. Trial classes may be rescheduled once with 24 hours' notice. In order to receive a refund, trial lessons must be canceled with 24 hours' notice.

How do I pay for my classes?
Pay by phone with all major credit cards or in person by check, money order, or credit card. All students pay a yearly registration fee of $30.

Payment must be made in full at the time of registration. There is a 5% discount for full tuition payment!

You may also use the following installment plan: 

Music Private Lesson Installment Plan- Tuition will be divided into four payments ($25 processing fee) for the 18-week sessions, and three payments ($25 processing fee) for the 15-week private lessons.

Music Group Lesson Installment Plan - Tuition will be divided into three payments ($25 processing fee)

Dance Group Lesson Installment Plan - Tuition will be divided into three payments ($25 processing fee)


What other fees must I pay?
The following are nonrefundable fees, which are added to lesson and class prices:

  • Registration fee: $30 paid once per school year (September-June ) per family; $20.00 for each additional family member.
  • Returned check fee: $35.


What happens if my account is not current or my check is returned?
If your account is not current, you may not take further lessons or classes until outstanding balances are paid. If your check is returned for insufficient funds, subsequent payment can be made only by money order or certified check.
