SUZUKI VIOLIN GROUP CLASS (4-up yrs. old) 

The Suzuki Method is an internationally recognized approach to training children and teaching the art of music.  Students learn through private lessons and group classes that incorporate theory and a high level of skill.  Integral to the Suzuki Method is parent involvement; training together with the child to motivate and encourage the learning process.  Our expertly trained and certified violin teacher works closely with parents and students to fully appreciate the dedication and benefits of the Suzuki Method.  $270 for 18 week semester, plus $30 registration fee.  Saturday – 11:00AM (45 min class)

GUITAR GROUP CLASS (6-up yrs. old) 

Students learn through weekly classes that incorporate theory, technical skills, and musicianship.  Training together allows each child the opportunity to begin to master guitar as they learn in a comfortable group setting.  Our expertly trained teachers work closely with students to fully appreciate guitar and to learn a life-long love of music.  $270 for 18 week semester, plus $30 registration fee.  Tuesday, 5:45PM (45 min class)

PIANO GROUP CLASS (5-up yrs. old) 

Students learn through weekly classes that incorporate theory, technical skills, and musicianship.  Training together allows each child the opportunity to begin to master piano as they learn in a comfortable group setting.  Our expertly trained teachers work closely with students to fully appreciate piano and to learn a life-long love of music.  $270 for 18 week semester, plus $30 registration fee.  Monday, 5:45PM (45 min class) 

EARLY MUSICIANSHIP (3-4 yrs. old) 

Is my child too young to start in a music class? Not with the BMS Early Musicianship group!  The Brooklyn Music School's Early Musicianship group meets Saturday mornings at 11AM. Early Musicianship is a super fun music and movement class that incorporates singing, movement, rhythm/percussion, and pre-piano skills to provide an overview on the creation of music. The age-appropriate class is designed for 3-4 year old students to build a foundation in basic music concepts as they are introduced to a variety of instruments. Benefits of early childhood music education include improved listening skills, reading skills, positive creative expression, and most importantly a joy-filled good time! $270 for 18 week semester, plus $30 registration fee.  Saturday – 11:00AM (45 min class) 

BMS ORCHESTRA

All students that can read music are encouraged to join the orchestra. Starting with the standard classical music literature, the orchestra delves into a wide repertoire with arrangements catering the most advanced to the primary beginner. Class meets on Saturdays at 2:45PM (hour class), $270 per 18-week semester, plus $30 registration fee.  

BMS JAZZ IMPROVISATION ENSEMBLE

Perfect for the student ready to exercise their technical, reading, and theoretical abilities, the workshop will use Jazz Standards, Blues, and Bebop in a comfortable, low pressure environment to develop the art of improvisation in the jazz setting. Students will get to work with a rhythm section and will not only study the theoretical and technical concepts of jazz, but also listen to recordings and one another.  This class runs Saturdays at 1:30PM (hour class), $270 per 18-week semester, plus $30 registration fee.

ROCK N’ ROLL ENSEMBLE

Want to be a rock star? Of course you do! Starting with simple blues progressions, the BMS rock ensemble will not only learn classic rock tunes, but will also work on modern rock tunes of today. Open to qualified guitarists, bassists, drummers, vocalists, keyboardist, and other instruments commonly found in rock music. This class meets Saturdays at 11AM and 4PM (hour-long class), $270 per 18-week semester, plus $30 registration fee.
